Andean textile patterns were the inspiration behind this band’s design. Though this style of woven fabric is found throughout South America, the oldest examples were found in mountainous Guilterrero, Peru. It was here that archaeologists found blankets and clothing that were made almost 3,000 years ago – since then, very little about this ancient method has changed, and the bold patterns and colours remain a poignant emblem of the ingenuity of Peru’s indigenous people.
